We are seeking a dependable and skilled Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of pick up trucks, dump trucks, trailers, and heavy construction equipment. This role is critical to keeping our crews operating safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and experienced in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in a construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on pickups, dump trucks and trailers, and heavy equipment (dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, rollers, etc.).
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine issues
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and services
- Troubleshoot breakdowns in the shop or in the field
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Identify needed parts and communicate repair needs to management
- Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards
- Keep shop and service vehicles clean and organized
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Support job-site uptime by responding to urgent repair needs
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic in construction, heavy equipment, or diesel repair
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrains
- Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded
